For over 20 years Mercedes-Benz has provided the star power behind Australia’s largest industry-based fashion event, and 2019 is no exception.
The action-packed week running from 12 – 17 May, was staged at the traditional Fashion Week site, Sydney’s Carriageworks. Kicking off the week of celebration, Australian fashion house and 2019 ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ designer, Aje, revealed its resort 2020 collection in an exclusive showing at Campbell Stores in Sydney’s iconic The Rocks.

Aje was added to the list of top tier labels from previous years including Camilla & Marc (2018), Dion Lee (2017), Toni Maticevski, (2016), Kym Ellery (2015) and Carla Zampatti (2014).
Along with the industry leading fashion, guests of course have the opportunity to peruse some of the most stylish offerings from the Mercedes-Benz product range including the new CLS Coupé, CLA Coupé and a few high performance offerings from our AMG family – the GT R & G 63.
It may technically be winter in Sydney, but don’t expect to see any parkas or snow boots at Australia Fashion Week.
As brands like Christopher Esber, Aje, and Jonathan Simkhai showed their Resort 2020 collections, the fashion crowd eschewed the weather forecast (which, to be fair, was still much warmer than New York, currently in prime springtime) in favor of strappy stilettos and bare legs.
Monochrome was a popular theme for show-goers, as were over-sized suits in saccharine shades of purple and pink.
The collections were a kaleidoscope of styles, all trending and reaching new ground.
