The sky’s the limit! This season, Christian Louboutin takes us one step closer to the stars with the Spring/Summer 2020 Loubi constellation.

Leave it to the one and only Christian Louboutin to one-up the drama at Paris Couture Week. Last night the designer previewed not one but two new collections at Manège Battisti in La Caserne des Célestins, in Paris’s 4th arrondissement. Rowan Blanchard, Ellie Bamber, Heidi Klum, Mandy Moore, and HRH Princess Mafalda Cecilia of Bulgaria were among those who joined the designer himself at the fortress that serves as the headquarters for the French Republican Guard.

In addition to unveiling his Spring-Summer 2020 collection, Louboutin used the occasion to present his Loubhoutan (a name that cheekily nods to the French label’s proper pronunciation) capsule collection, the product of a six-year-long collaboration between the designer and students of the School of Thirteen Arts and Crafts in Thimphu, Bhutan.

For those who love a statement colour, meet Diva and Elixir. Featured heavily on sneakers but also on pumps, flats and a new mule with a Kryptonite strap detail, this new duo of hot pink and electric blue brings a blast of fresh youthfulness to the collection. In a playful twist, the fluorescent uppers light up under the disco lights making them the ideal companion on a night out.

No intergalactic trip would be complete without a sensation of weightlessness. Cue the Levitation heel, an incredible innovation that creates the illusion of a floating shoe thanks to its state of the art construction.

Back to the future now with a theme inspired by a 1992 classic and one of Christian’s most iconic styles, the Pensée. Of the inspiration behind the original design, he says, “I was thinking of Andy Warhol’s watercolours, in particular a painting of pansies called Flowers and I decided to make a shoe in the range of the colours he used.”

Marking the first appearance of the Maison’s signature red sole, the Pensée has been brought back to life on sandals and flats alike for a fresh contemporary take.

Let’s come back down to planet Earth for a moment with the Loubhoutan limited edition capsule. Inspired by the changing skies over the Himalayas, these styles celebrate the rich symbolism and craftsmanship of Bhutan, their wooden platforms hand-sculpted and hand-painted with delicate colour gradations by local artisans.

From Bhutan to Egypt, Christian’s passion for travel persists. 20 years after launching his first handbag and following the success of the Paloma tote, Christian Louboutin reveals his latest creation, Elisa.

At the crossroads of Egypt in all its majesty, Italian craftsmanship and French elegance, Elisa is a new milestone for the Maison.

With three different sizes available in over 40 variations, this elegant chain bag features the iconic CL logo on its clasp, reimagined especially for Elisa.
One of a kind versions of Elisa include the Pensée, the Loubhoutan capsule celebrating traditional craftsmanship and travel, a reflective leopard print as an ode to innovation and of course, an all-over ’Rouge Louboutin’, the most beautiful red of all.
